Why is the transaction showing as pending on my bank statement?

Pending transactions are transactions that haven’t been fully processed yet, when you make a purchase with your debit card. Meaning, the transaction still needs to be fully authorized prior to posting to your account.

Please note that the final amount of a posted transaction, may be different than the initial amount presented while the transaction was in pending status. There may be an foreign exchange difference between the time of the authorization and posting of transaction. This can also happen in cases where tips are included in the payment.
