How to transfer assets between broker-dealers?

Custody transfers between brokerage firms are conducted by brokerage firms, clearinghouses (custodians) or transfer agents through different transfer models, the main ones being: ACAT, DTC. DRS and DWAC.

This process generally takes between 4 to 8 business days to complete,as it consists of account verification, communication between responsible agents and transfer of positions. The request could be initiated by the destination or origin broker, depending on the transfer model.

If you would like to transfer positions from another broker to Avenue, please contact our relationship team via email: [email protected], sending the last statement from the original account, since then we can check the positions before starting the transfer.

IMPORTANT: Your account will be frozen duringthe transfer process to ensure its effectiveness. Therefore, it will be blocked for new purchase and sale operations in the period in which the transfer is in progress.
